"How much is one solar panel?" It is a common question in Port Harcourt, Warri and Yenagoa. The honest answer: it moves with the naira. But here is a useful guide.
Our rough guide
In our installed systems, panels work out to about ₦170,000 per kW.
| Panel | Rough share of system price |
|---|---|
| 450W | About ₦75,000 |
| 550W | About ₦95,000 |
| 600W | About ₦100,000 |
These are planning figures, not shop prices.
Price per watt matters most
Price ÷ Watts = Price per watt
A cheap 300W panel can cost more per watt than a 600W panel. It also takes more roof space.
What changes panel prices
- Exchange rate. Most panels are imported.
- Brand. Tier-one brands like Jinko and Longi cost more.
- Type. N-type (TOPCon) costs a little more than older P-type. Read N-type vs P-type.
- Condition. New vs used. Read new vs tokunbo panels.
Panels are not the whole system
Panels are only about a fifth of a typical system price. The battery is the biggest part. See how much solar costs.
